Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC), is a sector skill council for oil & gas sector, has been set up under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG), and is a recognized Awarding Body with National Council of Vocational Education & Training (NCVET) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

Objective
Objective of HSSC is to execute skill development activities in hydrocarbon sector and to meet the entire value chain’s requirement of appropriately trained manpower on a sustained and evolving basis to
- implement skill development activities in Indian Hydrocarbon Sector by meeting the entire value chain’s requirement of appropriately trained manpower
- identify the skill development need of hydrocarbon sector
- develop skill development plan for the hydrocarbon sector
- determine skills/competency standards and qualifications
- develop affiliation protocol for identification and enlistment of TPs
- facilitate in setting up a robust and stringent certification process
- create benchmark for new skills and up-skills
- plan and execute Training of Trainer’s/Training of Assessors (ToT/ToA)
- establish well-structured sector specific Labour Market Information System (LMIS)
